Carols by Candlelight

Carols by Candlelight 2024 marks the return of this cherished community tradition after a five-year hiatus, with the last event held in 2019.

Bringing together families, friends, and neighbours, the event will celebrate the start of the festive season and strengthen the bonds within our local Sorrento community.

This year’s event is a groundbreaking collaboration between the Sorrento Chamber of Commerce, representing local businesses, and the Spirit of Sorrento Community Network, which represents over 20 not-for-profit community groups in the Sorrento area.

Held at the Sorrento Football Ground, a prominent and secure location, the event will feature a large formal stage showcasing performances by local kindergarten and primary school choirs, a backing orchestra, and other entertainers.

Attendees will enjoy a mass sing-along of beloved Christmas carols under the soft glow of candlelight, with the evening concluding in a spectacular fireworks display.

This year’s Carols by Candlelight will be a not for profit event, with surplus funds being donated to Southern Peninsula Community  Support Centre to help homeless individuals and families in the Southern Peninsula area.
