The Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Easter Art Show2026 returns for its sixteenth year, firmly established as one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most anticipated cultural events. Held over the Easter long weekend and proudly supported by Belle Property Blairgowrie, the Art Show brings together leading artists, the local community and visitors in a vibrant celebration of creativity—while raising vital funds for the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron rescue boat fleet and inclusive sailing programs.
Over the years, the show has grown into a distinctive and much-loved experience where visitors can enjoy high-quality artworks, outdoor sculpture, coastal views and a lively social atmosphere. Each year the exhibition presents a refreshed and inspiring collection of works from invited artists across Melbourne and the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas, showcasing a broad range of artistic media.
In 2026, feature artists Dan Thornell, Patti Green and Gabrielle Young will be joined by an exciting mix of returning and emerging artists. Indoor and outdoor sculpture will once again feature prominently, with large-scale works displayed across the club’s deck and lawns, creating a striking visual setting and a uniquely photogenic backdrop for the event.
Dan Thornell is a nationally registered sculptor based in Tootgarook on the Mornington Peninsula. Without formal art training, Dan has developed a naturally creative and curious approach to sculpture. Working primarily with steel and timber, he creates visually and physically tactile works inspired by earthy tones, organic forms, music and the natural world.
Patti Green is an Australian photographer known for her striking images of native birdlife, particularly Red-tailed Black Cockatoos and Gang-gang Cockatoos. Through patient observation, her work captures the individuality and quiet presence of these iconic species. This year Patti introduces a new genre to her practice, turning her lens toward clouds viewed through windows and doorways. These images explore light, reflection and framing, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior spaces.
Gabrielle Young is a Melbourne-based artist who has developed a distinctive style using ink. Her intricate, hand-drawn illustrations feature detailed patterns inspired by nature, landscapes, animals and sea life. Gabrielle also produces limited-edition hand-painted linocuts, with her work often conveying a sense of movement while evoking calm, beauty and joy.
Prizes will be awarded across several categories, including the coveted People’s Choice Award.
