Things to do in Sorrento
The peninsula’s community markets run monthly, mostly from spring to autumn, and they are the best place to meet the makers and growers behind the region’s food and craft. Come early for the coffee and the best of the produce; stay for the music under the trees.

The closest market to the village is held in the grounds of the historic Quarantine Station inside Point Nepean National Park, on the fourth Sunday of the month from September to May. Fresh produce, gourmet food and local goods, with the park’s walks on the doorstep.
A short drive along the bay, the Rye Community Market fills Rowley Reserve on the first Saturday of the month.
One of the peninsula’s best-known markets, on Arthurs Seat Road at Red Hill, runs on the first Saturday of the month from September to May. Pair it with lunch at a cellar door.
The Boneo Community Market and the Dromana Community Market both run on the third Saturday of the month, the Shoreham Community Market on the third Sunday from September to May, and the Emu Plains Market at Balnarring Racecourse on the third Saturday from October to April. Mornington’s Main Street Market runs every Wednesday.
Market dates can change for weather and public holidays, so check each market’s own page before you set out. Bring a bag for produce, and arrive early on summer weekends when parking fills quickly.
