Things to do in Sorrento
Sorrento has always been where Melbourne came to recover. The sea air and long walks still do most of the work, but there is more on offer now: natural hot springs twenty minutes away, and yoga, pilates and treatment rooms in the village itself.

About 20 minutes’ drive away at Fingal, natural geothermal water fills the pools of Peninsula Hot Springs, which has dozens of bathing pools, a bathhouse and a day spa, and the quieter Alba Thermal Springs & Spa a few minutes down the road. Both are open year round, and a cold, wet winter day is the best time to go: steam rising off the water, rain on your face, nowhere else to be.
Weekends book out, often a week or two ahead, so plan before you arrive. Read our guide to a day at the hot springs.
Along Ocean Beach Road and the surrounding streets you will find yoga and pilates studios, massage and day spas, and treatment rooms for an hour of quiet between the beach and lunch. Many take casual bookings from visitors. Browse the local health and beauty businesses below.
The simplest wellness routine in the village costs nothing: an early swim at the front beach, a walk along Millionaires Walk or the clifftops of Coppins Track, and coffee in the main street. Many locals swim the bay all year, and the still water of a winter morning is something to experience at least once.
Wellness here is mostly about pace. Start with the bay, give the middle of the day to the springs or a treatment, and finish with an early dinner in the village while the light goes gold on the limestone. Then sleep with the window open and listen to the ocean on the other side of the hill.
