Sorrento Museum

The museum occupies the 1876 Mechanics’ Institute, and is run by the Nepean Historical Society, which keeps the record for Sorrento, Portsea and Blairgowrie.Inside are photograph and map collections, a library and a bookshop, and archives that answer research and family history questions. The society also looks after Watts’ Cottage and the 1803 Collins Settlement Centre, the site of the first British settlement on the Australian mainland. It opens Saturday mornings, with other times by appointment.
